Ruth F. Goltz

Ruth F. Goltz, 100, passed away peacefully April 21, 2024. Born December 6, 1923, she was the daughter of the late Samuel and Celia (Freides) Chilow.

On December 15, 1946, Ruth married Herbert Goltz, who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Edith Weinstein.

Left to cherish her memory are three daughters, Terry (Jeff) Zelvy of Mishawaka, Lynn (Maury) Tasman of Louisville, KY and Pamela (Daniel) Bottom of Philomath, OR; her brother, Philip (Rosalie) Chilow of Florida; 8 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

Ruth was a loving and devoted wife and mother; and she was an active member of Temple Beth-El. She enjoyed playing Mahjong, knitting and needlepoint. She celebrated her 100th birthday with her family in December and was fairly healthy until just 2 weeks ago. Her energetic and loving spirit will be missed by many.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel at the Hebrew Orthodox Cemetery, with Rabbi Karen Companez officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Temple Beth-El, the Jewish Federation of St. Joseph County, or to the Hospice Foundation.
