Barbara Curme

Barbara Curme, 97, of South Bend, IN, passed away peacefully on September 20, 2025. She was born on August 12, 1928, to Mary and August Zimmermann.

Barbara graduated from Loretto High School and later from St. Vincent Infant and Maternity Hospital. She worked in the pediatric ward at Carle Clinic in Urbana, IL.

She moved to South Bend in 1962 and worked as a mailroom supervisor at the Penny Saver for twenty years. She always enjoyed reconnecting with former Penny Saver employees and remained close friends with two coworkers, meeting them regularly for monthly breakfast gatherings.

The youngest of eight children, Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, five brothers; Augie, Julius, Dick, Joe, and Robert, and two sisters; Virginia and Florence.

She is survived by her sons: Bruce, David, Roger, and Frank.

A visitation will be held at 9:00 a.m. Central Time at the Moeller Funeral Home, 104 Roosevelt Rd. Valparaiso, IN. 46383. A service will follow at 11:00.
