Brian Eckert

Brian Eugene Eckert, 68, of New Carlisle, passed away on May 6, 2026. He was born on August 16, 1957, in LaPorte to Albert and Marilyn (Hold) Eckert.

On May 28, 1976, Brian married the love of his life, Theresa Eckert, in Evergreen. Together they shared many years of love, laughter, and family.

Brian was retired, having previously worked in manufacturing at Carborundum in New Carlisle. Outside of work, he enjoyed wood carving, Amazon shopping, cheering on the Denver Broncos, collecting coins, golfing, listening to music, playing card games, and working crossword puzzles. He especially loved animals, particularly his beloved dog, Lucy.

Brian will be deeply missed by his wife, Theresa Eckert; daughter, Celia (Adam) McCarty of South Bend; grandsons, William and Korban McCarty; sister, Lana (Vic) Richart of Granger; sister, Tami Eckert of Bedford; grandsons, Devin and Jade Voss of Indianapolis; sister, Heidi (Darrell) Frantom of Hannibal; brother, Josh Eckert of New Carlisle; and nephew, Joe Voss of South Bend. 

He will be remembered for his sense of humor, the love he had for his family and pets, and the joy he found in life’s simple pleasures.
