Helen G. Medina, 95, passed away peacefully, surrounded by numerous family members, August 30, 2023.
Born June 15, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Nabor and Maria (Paramo) Guzman. Also preceding her in death were: her husband, Walt Medina; two-stepchildren, Nancy Medina Alvarez and Danny Medina; and three siblings, Joe, Stanley, and her twin brother, Jake, who died fighting in the Korean War.
Left to cherish her memory are: her son, Sal (Kathy) Medina; four siblings, Frank Guzman, Manuela (John) Tugman, Raymond (Liz) Guzman and Liz (Steve) McCarthy; step-children, Dick, David and Roger Medina; two grandchildren, Aaron (Christina) and Nicole Medina; 6 great-grandchildren; and many loving cousins, nieces and nephews.
Helen had a heart for service to others, and it showed in her long career in nursing. Always a hard worker, she loved being a nurse, but even after retirement, she would take on new jobs just to keep busy. She was devoted to her large extended family, and loved gardening. She had a long life and leaves behind many wonderful memories for her large extended family.
Her entire family will be forever grateful for the wonderful care Helen received over the last two years from the personnel of Home Instead Senior Care, Caring Junction, and the Center for Hospice Care: they are further proof that there are always angels among us!
