Janet Louise (Gergely) Stalvey, 84, of Mishawaka, Indiana, passed away on July 14, 2025.
She was born on April 11, 1941, in Greensburg, Pennsylvania, to Milburn and Sarah Gergely. On June 12, 1959, she married her loving husband, Troy Stalvey, in Vero Beach, Florida. They were married for 59 years, raising four children together and later enjoying the blessings of seven grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild.
Janet was a talented cook. Cooking and reading cookbooks were some of her greatest pleasures. She was always eager to explore new recipes and share her delicious creations. She also loved spending time on creative hobbies, especially painting and crafting, which brought her joy throughout her life. She was a doting mother and grandmother who loved spending time with her family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Troy; her brothers Ed Gergely and Keith Gergely; daughter-in-law Marianne Stalvey; and grandson Michael Stalvey.
Janet is survived by her daughter, Deborah Gabaree (Bud) of Granger; sons, Troy Stalvey Jr. of Easley, SC, Patrick Stalvey (Clara) of Mishawaka, and Mark Stalvey (Chris) of Gaffney, SC; sisters, Donna Arnold (Phil) of Melbourne, FL and Darlene Irvine of Melbourne, FL; along with her grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchild.
The family will honor her life with a private service at St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park on Friday, July 18, 2025.
