Janina Goetz

Mrs. Janina Goetz, 94, passed away peacefully on April 15, 2026, in South Bend, Indiana with her family at her bedside.

She was born on November 14, 1931, in Katowice, Poland to Simon and Edyta Kupperman. On July 29, 1955, she married the love of her life, Abraham Goetz, in Wrocław, Poland. He preceded her in death.

Janina dedicated many years of her professional life as a Senior Laboratory Technician with the South Bend Medical Foundation, where she worked for nearly 20 years before retiring in 1993. She was a devoted member of Sinai Synagogue and was also active with the Ladies of Notre Dame and well-loved in the Sable Ridge community.

She is survived by her sons, George Goetz of Wheeling, West Virginia, and Victor Goetz of Skillman, New Jersey; her daughter-in-law, Lisa Michaels of Skillman, New Jersey; and her beloved granddaughter, Alexandra Goetz of Falls Church, Virginia.

Funeral services were held on Friday, April 17, 2026 at Sinai Synagogue with burial following at Hebrew Orthodox Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or Sinai Synagogue.
