Kevin Robert Pruett

July 19, 1956 — May 22, 2026

South Bend

Kevin Robert Pruett, age 69, passed away peacefully on May 22, 2026, at Memorial Hospital. Born on July 19, 1956, Kevin lived a life defined by strength, loyalty, love, and unwavering dedication to those around him.

Kevin proudly served his country as a member of the United States Marine Corps. He carried that same sense of honor, resilience, and commitment throughout every aspect of his life. A hardworking man with a generous heart, Kevin was someone people could always count on. Whether family, friend, or stranger, he never hesitated to help anyone in need, never expecting anything in return.

He was known for telling the very best stories, the kind that could make a room laugh, listen closely, and feel connected all at once. Kevin was also a wonderful listener himself — thoughtful, patient, and always willing to lend an ear.

Kevin had a love for games of all kinds and especially enjoyed playing cards, where he often came out the winner. He also enjoyed crosswords and scratch-offs, always appreciating the fun and challenge they brought. He also had a deep love for horses, which brought him great joy throughout his life. But above all else, the greatest love of Kevin’s life was his wife, Lou Ann. Their love and devotion to one another was evident to everyone who knew them.

Kevin leaves behind his beloved wife, Lou Ann Becker Pruett of South Bend, Indiana; daughters, Kelly (Chad Miller) Gunn and Lori (Nathan Jesse) Tharp; son, Scott (Rene) Becker; and five cherished grandchildren.

A joint Celebration of Life and celebration of Kevin and Lou Ann’s anniversary will be held at the family home, 25305 US Hwy 20, on June 20, 2026, at 4:00 p.m.
