On June 24, 1942, Larry was born at Epworth Hospital in South Bend, IN. to Simon (Joe) and Loretta Hostetler. He was preceded in death by Patricia Hostetler, his parents, and sisters Sandra, Darlene, and Jacquelene. Surviving is his son, Nicholas.
Larry graduated from Riley High School and the University of Wyoming. He also attended Indiana University of South Bend and the University of Virginia.
He served his country honorably in the United States Marine Corps, actively serving in the Vietnam War. He retired from the South Bend Police Department after 30 years of service, and the United States Marshal Service after 18 years of service.
He was a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 360, the American Legion Post 161, the Marine Corps Heritage Foundation, the National Academy of Sports Medicine, as well as the National Coach's Strength and Conditioning Association.
