Laura Rzepka

May 8, 1958 — August 15, 2022

It is with great sorrow, love, and profound gratitude, the family of Laura Rzepka announces her passing on August 15th , 2022 at her home in Granger. She was 64 years old. Laura was born May 8th, 1958 in South Bend, IN to the late David Lee Finch and Phyllis (Underkircher)Finch, she survives. Laura graduated in 1976 from South Bend Washington. She was blessed to have her family by her side the day the Lord took her into his hands and home. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, and wonderful wife. She will be greatly missed by everyone that knew her. She touched the hearts of so many. She knew no strangers and had no enemies. She treated everyone with love, care, and respect as if you were part of her family. She truly cherished her family and friends with her whole heart. Laura loved various arts and crafts, and painting in her earlier years. She gained her artistic skills from her mother. Some of her favorite times, were following her sons’ various sports during his athletic career. She was always in the front row cheering on the boys yelling “yay yeah!”. Her voice was electric. We were so blessed to have traveled throughout the US and abroad. She loved Hawaii. She lived the majority of her life in South Bend, but gained another family of friends at Ball State University when she moved to Muncie in 1978 for 7 years. Many great times and memories were created there. A large portion of her life was spent enjoying time at her parent’s lake home on Eagle Lake in Edwardsburg, MI. Immeasurable amounts of family gatherings, holidays, and long weekends are where some of our most treasured memories were made. Laura faced many ongoing health issues during her time on earth. She amazed so many on how she met her health issues head on no matter what the good lord sent her way. She was remarkable in that not once in her lifetime did she ever complain about any of her illnesses, and continued to live out her life with great enthusiasm and charisma, and incredible bravery and head turning beauty. She will always be remembered for her infectious smile and laughter. Laura is survived by her husband, Alan; son Brian (Danielle) Rzepka and their 3 children (Harper, Knox and Braxton); her sisters, Barbara (Paul) Suppinger, Kathy (Wally, deceased) Pollock, Ann (Mark ) Shellen; and her brother, Joel (Karen) Finch; and her brothers and sisters in law, Arlene (John) Vogt and Ron (Becky) Rzepka; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
