Marian Kathleen Sloboda, 94, of South Bend, Indiana passed away on November 2, 2025. Marian was born on October 24, 1931 to William and Mary (Schumacher) Hand in Bremen, Indiana.
Marian married William Sloboda and they spent many wonderful years together until his passing in 2019. Marian lived a vibrant life, embracing every moment. She was a devoted wife, a loving mother and a good grandmother.
Marian was a beloved teacher’s aide who made a lasting impact on countless young lives. She was known for her dedication to the students in the Bremen Community School Corporation. Marian also had a passion for reading and enjoyed working in the library outside of being an aide. Her passion for reading was passed down to her children, Brent, Gary and Sheri.
Marian cherished her family and they meant everything to her. They were the heart of her home and always came first.
After retirement, Marian found the greatest joy in the laughter and love of her grandchildren. She enjoyed a good conversation and a well-made margarita too. She loved cats and dogs and she always had a pet.
Marian is survived by her loving children, Brent(Susan) Yoder of San Diego, CA., Gary Yoder of Elkhart, IN., and Sheri Sloboda of South Bend, IN; five beloved grandchildren: Zach, Ian, Kyle, Chelsea and Brison and five great-grandchildren Ivy, Ilah, Callum, Cormick and Stella.
May her memory bring comfort and peace to those who knew and loved her. Family came first and was above all else to Marian, a value she instilled in all those around her.
