January 31, 1955 – August 14, 2020Martinzy Orr, 65, was born in South Bend, IN January 31, 1955, to the late John and Ruth (Love) Orr.Martinzy Orr retired from J. R. Schugel Trucking INC in Columbus, Ohio. After he retired, he lived in Dublin, Ohio, for ten years. Martinzy moved back to Michana, where he passed away unexpectedly, on August 14, 2020.Left to cherish his memory are his two sisters, Jeromie Orr of Dublin, OH and Rosecedar (Leo Kevin) Byrd of Mishawaka, IN; one younger brother, Andre Scruggs of South Bend; his Best Friend since third grade, Clark Price of South Bend; four nieces: Sharrell (Tyreese) Alexander of Dallas Texas, Sharita (Keith) Taylor of South Bend, Ericka (Terrence) Williams of Landover, MD, and Ellise Moore of South Bend; two beautiful grandnieces, Kendall Taylor and Ruby Williams;
and 7 grandnephews he adored:
Keith Taylor Jr., Keion Taylor,
Jeremiah Alexander, Kaden Taylor and Josiah Alexander, Little Trent Horton and Little Terry Williams. Martinzy also leaves a very special first cousin, a look a like cousin, Larone Newton of Houston, Texas. Larone moved to South Bend for a short time and everybody thought him and Martinzy were twins. Larone and Martinzy were very close. Martinzy would call and go visit Larone whenever he was in Houston. Martinzy leaves several friends and a host of relatives, cousins, aunts, uncles, whom he shared special memories with.Martinzy was a graduate of Penn High School 1974. Martinzy went on to attend Central State University in Wilberforce, Ohio for two and a half years. He became ill while attending college, and had to move back to South Bend. Once Martinzy became well again, he decided that he would like to travel and see all of the USA. Martinzy was an excellent driver. He attended the Truck Driver institute in St. Joseph County, Indiana. After passing the CDL Training, he landed his first job driving for the DOT. He worked as a Truck Driver for 30 years. He received several safety awards for safe driving and he always made his required SLA deliveries on time.Martinzy was a very kind and sweet man. He was very generous and compassionate. He enjoyed Sports, especially Football and Basketball. His favorite food was fried chicken. He had an amazing sense of humor and enjoyed telling jokes and making people laugh; something him and I, myself, inherited from our mother.
He will be greatly missed.Martinzy was a very quiet and private man. There will be a private service held for Martinzy, which is how he would have wanted it.
