Mary Margaret Means

Mary Margaret Means, 79, passed away peacefully on February 9, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family.

Born on August 4, 1946, in South Bend, Indiana, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Hazel (Berg) Dhaene. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Thomas Dhaene.

On February 24, 1996, Mary married Harold Means, who survives her. She is also survived by her loving children, Ryan Brandt of Morehead, Kentucky, and Jenna (Graydon) Lower of Carmel, Indiana; her sisters, Nancy (James) Labis of Bridgman, Michigan, and Barbara (Ken) Leeth of Cassopolis, Michigan; her cherished grandchildren, Gwendolyn Lower of Carmel, Indiana; Zefren Brandt of Apache Junction, Arizona; Ashton Gaugler of Pinedale, Wyoming; Kyle Means of Indianapolis, Indiana; and Emma and Madison Driscoll of California; as well as her stepchildren, Michele (Michael) Driscoll of El Dorado Hills, California, and Bob (Mary) Means of South Bend, Indiana.

Mary was a dedicated and hardworking bookkeeper at Bob Frame Plumbing for more than 20 years, retiring in 2011. She took great pride in her work and the relationships she built over the years.

Mary embraced life fully and found joy in its simple pleasures. She loved reading, gardening, cooking, and traveling, especially motorcycle trips and time spent at the lake with family and friends. Her warmth, strength, and quiet kindness touched all who knew her.

She was deeply loved and will be greatly missed by her family, friends, and all whose lives she touched.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, February 21, 2026 at Bar Louie, 7320 Aspect Dr., Granger, IN from 1:30 until 3:30 PM where family, friends and colleagues will gather to honor Mary's memory.
