Michael Thomas Nowicki, of Edwardsburg, MI, passed away from injuries sustained from a motorcycle accident on Monday, November 6, 2023, at the age of 45. Michael was born on October 5, 1978, in Niles, MI to Thomas E. Nowicki and the late Sherry L. (Smith) Montel.
Michael served in the United States Marines (1998-2005) and then the U.S. Army (2009-2010) with honorable discharge and a medical retirement.
On August 13, 2005, in Cassopolis, MI he was united in marriage to the love of his life, Jamie Tolbert. Michael was a loving husband, father, and son who devoted his life to caring for his family. Michael was an active member of Patriots Garage, an organization for veteran brotherhood whose purpose is to lower veteran suicide by offering support and a family atmosphere for veterans suffering from PTSD, TBI, depression and those just seeking purpose. He also loved his church family at Reflection Community Church, where he was recommitted and baptized with his boys in July 2022 on his mother’s birthday. Michael loved God and felt closest to him when he was riding his motorcycle. He loved working on cars and small motors, caring for animals, and most of all spending time with his family (his boys) and friends.
Michael is survived by his sons, Jeffrey Nowicki (17), Robert Nowicki (13), James Nowicki (10); his wife Jamie (Tolbert) Nowicki. He is also survived by his father, Thomas E. (Rene Ann) Nowicki of Goshen, IN; his sisters, Marnie K. (Eric) Eaton of Niles, MI, Daun M. (Thomas) Gregory of Edwardsburg, MI and Wendy S. (Jay) DeFreeuw of Mason, OH.
Friends may visit with the family on Thursday, November 16, 2023, from 4 to 7p.m. at McGann-Hay, Granger Chapel, 13260 SR 23 (enter at Cherry Road) Granger, IN 46530. Funeral services for Michael will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, November 17, 2023 with a one hour viewing prior, also at the McGann Hay, Granger Chapel. Burial will follow at Adamsville Cemetery in Edwardsburg, MI.
