Millie Mae Shively went home to Jesus on Monday, January 8, 2024. She was 98 years old. Millie was born to the late Omer and Cleo (Decker) Horn on May 13, 1925 in Claypool, Indiana.
Millie enjoyed life to the fullest and had many talents such as painting, playing the piano, gardening, sewing. She won many awards with her painting and sewing. Millie enjoyed cooking up the families Thanksgiving meal and many in between. She sang in the choir at church and even went to Europe singing with the Sounds of Hope. She enjoyed traveling with her husband Al and went all over the US and into Mexico.
She used words like davenport and olio and was prim and proper and always wanted things to be done correctly. She always had her hair done and dressed to receive company.
Millie had a very long life and watched most everyone go before her. She was welcomed into Heaven by her husband, Allen; children, Billie Brown, Kelly (Sue) Brown and Jackie (Marvin) King; sister, Marilyn, grandson, Michael King; and son-in-law, Larry Solloway.
She will always be loved and missed by daughter, Becky Solloway; grandchildren: Merrill King, Andrea Smith, Robert, Mindy, Kris and Ryan Brown, Renee and Peter (Jess) Kime; 13 great-grandchildren; and 6 great-great grandchildren.
Millie will be buried next to her husband on Friday, January 12, 2024 at 12 pm, at Syracuse Cemetery in Syracuse, Indiana.
