Nancy Elizabeth Banks

June 3, 1952 — March 26, 2021

Nancy Elizabeth Banks, 68, passed away on March 26, 2021. She was born in York, Nebraska on June 3, 1952 to the late Kenneth Francis and Norma Elizabeth (Pope) Volkmer.
Left to cherish Nancy’s memory are her husband of more than 40 years, Frank; their 2 children, Matt (Michelle) Banks, and Beth (Ben) Kasa; grandchildren: Maddie, Molly, and Mikey Banks, Reid and Quinn Kasa; siblings, Jane McGachey, Steve (Suzanne) Volkmer-Jones, Dona (Mike) Haberer, Marilyn (Carl) Karnuth, Kathy (Randy) Stark, Ted (Mary) Volkmer, Lisa Ricenbaw, and Jim Volkmer; and lots of nieces and nephews.
Nancy worked for many years at Horizon Elementary as a Teacher’s Assistant sinced it opened over 20 years ago. She loved children. She never met a baby she didn’t hold.
She was a great cheerleader for not only her family, but all the other kids on the team as well. Nancy was always planning social events for the family and school. She enjoyed reading, watching movies, traveling, playing games, especially cards and could be found doing the daily crossword. Nancy was a long time member of St. Pius X Catholic Church.
Nancy was a wonderful wife, mother and nana. She was so kind to everyone she met. She will be greatly missed.
A Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, March 30, at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 52553 Fir Rd., Granger, at 10:30 am., with visitation one hour prior.
