Patricia “Pat” Thompson, 85, passed away peacefully in her home on August 18, 2025.
Born June 15, 1940, she was the daughter of the late Aloysius and Mary (Mindykowski) Was.
On September 9, 1962, Pat married the love of her life, Dan Thompson. He preceded her in death in 2018. Left to cherish her memory are three children, Dan (Jenn Poole) Thompson, Jr., SueBadowski, both of Three Rivers, MI, and Amy (Scott) Yoste of Celina, TX; five grandchildren, Andrea (Frank) Wittendorf, Robert (Kaity) Badowski, Dan Thompson, III, and Sarah Thompson, all of South Bend, and Ryan (Alyssa) Thompson of Bloomington, IN; and four great-grandchildren: Addison, Noah, Eleanor and Graham. She is also survived by two sisters, one brother, six step-grandchildren, and four step-great-grandchildren.
Pat was a Lady of the Lake Red Hats member and served as Secretary of the Corey Lake Association. She was a former President of the Ladies' Auxiliary of the Fraternal Order of Police, Lodge 36. She was a parishioner of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, where she served as a Eucharistic Minister to the sick. Pat's pride and joy was the house that she and Dan built on Corey Lake, which she called "God's House," where all were welcome.
Visitation will be held Thursday, Aug. 21, from 4-7 p.m. at the McGann Hay, Granger Chapel, 13260 SR 23, enter off Cherry Rd. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Friday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church at 10 a.m., with the Rosary being prayed before Mass at 9:30 a.m.
