Paul Francis Curran

Paul Francis Curran, 94, formerly of South Bend, passed away after a battle with the Covid virus on January 14, 2021.
Born August 2, 1926 in El Dorado, KS, he was the son of the late James H. and Leona Marie (Straub) Curran.
On October 30, 1948, Paul married Clarice Julia Sary. She preceded him in death in 2019. To their 70-year union, they were blessed with four children: Cathy Ewald (Thomas, deceased) of Noblesville, Greg Curran (wife Angela) of Plymouth, Maureen Houser (husband Greg) of Fishers, and Shawn Curran (wife Sara) also of Fishers. Also cherishing their memory are: 6 grandchildren: Alissa Trowbridge of Franklin, TN, Brett Ewald of Carlsbad, CA, Andrew, Grace and Rachael Houser of Fishers, and Meghan Curran of Indianapolis; and 4 great-grandchildren in Tennessee and California.
Paul was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandad. He served in World War II, in Germany, with the US Army 12th Armored Infantry Division and was honorably discharged on July 21, 1946.
He was preceded in death by his sisters: Genevieve Patterson, Patricia Tobin, Margaret (Tootie) Nemeth; and brothers: James Curran, Michael Curran, and John Curran.
Due to the pandemic, a private Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. He will be laid to rest beside his wife at Highland Cemetery, where military honors will be held.
