Priti Jairam, 48, passed away peacefully on January 21, 2026, surrounded by her loving family.
Priti was born on February 9, 1977 in Surat, India to Pravin and Rekha Patel, her lifelong mentors and greatest sources of strength. She later moved to South Bend to begin her adult life and career, though she deeply cherished every opportunity to return to India and remain connected to her roots.
During her career in retail and hospitality, she took great pride in her work, especially in managing her Super 8 motel—an accomplishment that reflected her strong work ethic, attention to detail, and natural gift for hospitality. On May 30, 2008, in Surat, she married Naimesh Jairam. Together, they spent 18 wonderful years in Granger, devoted to building a loving home and providing an exceptional life for their family.
Affectionately known as “Pinu” and “Pinky”, she was admired for her fierce, strong-willed, and deeply kindhearted spirit. She had a profound love for travel, beauty, and the finer things in life—always appreciating quality, elegance, and thoughtful details. Whether through her impeccable taste, her welcoming home, or the way she made everyday moments feel special, she brought beauty into the lives of those around her. She especially delighted in spoiling the family bunny, Biscuit.
She had a rare gift for making people feel truly seen and cherished and was known for laughing with loved ones until tears were shed. Above all, she was a devoted mother, daughter, wife, friend, and cherished family member.
She is survived by her parents and her devoted husband. Her legacy lives on through her son, Manav Jairam, and daughter, Khushi Jairam. She is also survived by extended family members and close friends who loved her deeply. Priti was preceded in death by her beloved sister Krutika Patel and brother Amar Patel.
Priti will always be remembered as a caring, strong, and generous soul whose love, warmth, humor, and generosity touched everyone she met.
A celebration of life will be held Saturday, January 24, 2026 at 9:00 a.m. at McGann Hay, University Chapel 2313 Edison Road, South Bend, IN.
