Sharon A. Ortman

Sharon Ann Ortman (Palmreuter), age 84, passed away peacefully on August 11, 2025, in Elkhart, Indiana.

Sharon was the 2nd daughter of Oswald and Leona Palmreuter (Fink), born on April 26, 1941, in Wolcottsville, New York. Sharon lived a full and meaningful life that included 65 years of marriage to Harvey R. Ortman. Throughout the years, she embraced her roles as a loving daughter, sister, mother, and grandmother with grace and devotion. Her presence brought warmth to those around her and left a lasting impression on all who knew her. She was highly committed and an active member at Trinity Lutheran Church in Elkhart. She regularly attended worship and was involved with Esther Circle and the OWL’s.

Sharon’s life was marked by the deep care she extended to her family and the strength she carried through life’s many seasons. She and Harve were blessed with three daughters, all of which are married, and seven grandchildren. They are John & Wendy (Ortman) Kelpin of Coeur d’Alene, ID, Heather Kelpin, Shane Kelpin, Levi Kelpin, Bruce & Holly (Ortman) Madewell of Chino Hills, CA, Max Madewell, Madison Madewell, Scott & Kris (Ortman) Mramor of Granger, IN, Landon & Hailey (Mramor) Holzmor, and Hope Mramor. Her legacy lives on in the hearts of those who were fortunate to share in her journey.

May her memory bring comfort and peace to those who knew and loved her. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 19, 2025, from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM with a Memorial Service following at 1:00 at McGann Hay Funeral Home 13260 State Road 23, Granger, IN 46530, enter off of Cherry Rd. Pastor Spencer Mielke, from Trinity Lutheran Church in Elkhart, will be performing the service.
