Susanne Marie DeGraff, 78, passed away at her home May 30, 2020. Sue was born July 30, 1941 in South Bend, IN to the late Harold Nelson and Marie Virginia (Casey) DeGraff.Susanne attended grade school at St. Mary's Campus, and graduated from Washington Clay High School in 1959.Sue married Walter D. Nichols Jr. June 18, 1960. They were both active in the Mishawaka Moose as Governor and Senior Regent. They were married 20 years.On August 3, 1981 Sue married Richard G. Holloway. They were married for 19 years.Sue retired from Harding's supermarket in Cassopolis, MI, as General Merchandise Manager and from Spartan Corporation as a Merchandiser at the same time.After her retirement, she worked for 10 years at the Notre Dame Catalog Center, finally retiring at 74.Sue was a dedicated daughter, grand-daughter, sister, and Aunt. Her love for her family was beyond measure.She was never found without her coffee, cigarettes, cats, or scratch offs.Christmas was her passion. She had a tree in every room and often more than one.Susanne is survived by her fiance', Larry Lowman, of Niles; sister, Sheryl DeGraff, of St. Joseph, MI; nieces, Michelle Susanne Copas, of Edwardsburg, MI; Carry Susanne (Jason) Shirley, of St. Joseph, MI; nephews, Kevin DeGraff, of Edwardsburg, MI, and Donald "Fred" Vandygriff, of Athens, GA; seven nieces and nephews as well as greats!Preceding Sue in death were her parents; husbands; brother, Frank H. DeGraff; and nephew, Robin DeGraff.A private service for Susanne will be held at a later date.Donations in Susanne's name can be made Animal Aid of Southwest MI, P.O. Box 407 St. Joseph, MI 49085.
