Terry Burtsfield

Terry R. Burtsfield, 73, of Marcellus, Michigan passed away peacefully on Monday September 21, 2026 with his loving wife by his side at The Orchards in Three Rivers. He was born on March 10, 1953 in Mishawaka, Indiana to James and Delores (Mahler) Burtsfield.

Terry married Kathy Furr on October 5, 2002 in Edwardsburg, Michigan. They have spent the last 24 years adventuring through life together. Terry was a huge Notre Dame fan…He was on the First Response Team for all home games and events on campus. He even enlisted Kathy to serve, as well.

Terry was a decorated Fireman with the South Bend Fire Department for 27 years, where he was presented with many awards, including an award in the Heroes Hall of Fame.

He is survived by his wife, Kathy; his children: Tina King, Tracy (Alec) Kaminski and Brian (Lauren) Burtsfield; his step-children: Mick Ferguson, Dawn Redfern and Alison Freeland; as well as 10 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 29, 2026 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at McGann Hay University Chapel, located at 2313 Edison Road, South Bend, IN. A service in his honor will begin at 1:00 PM at the funeral home. The Fire Department Chaplain will officiate.
