Virginia Olden

Virginia Olden, 77, of South Bend, IN, passed away peacefully at her home on September 17, 2025, with her loving husband by her side. She was born on March 18, 1948, in Chicago, IL, to Raymond and Patricia (Hill) Gregg.

Virginia earned her bachelor’s degree and dedicated 30 years of her life to the field of education with the South Bend Community School Corporation. Virginia saw potential in every student and inspired countless young minds with a lifelong love of learning. She was also a store supervisor at Harry and Davids.

On August 1, 1970, Virginia married the love of her life, Michael, and they had two wonderful children, Sarah (Olden) Kanishi and Christopher Olden, who preceded her in death. Beyond the classroom, Virginia had a passion for literature, she enjoyed walks at Leeper Park with her husband and traveling. Virginia and Michael were able to visit the Masada in Israel, toured Jerusalem and Europe. Virginia was very involved in The Order of the Daughters of the King in the Episcopal Church.

Virginia was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Patricia Gregg and her son Christopher Olden. She is survived by her beloved husband, Michael Olden of South Bend, IN., daughter Sarah Konishi of Chicago, IL. and countless students whose lives she enriched.

The family requests that memorial donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
