William, (Bill), J. Becker, 85, of Granger, Indiana, passed away on March 22, 2023 in Indianapolis, IN, following a brief illness. He was born in Louisville, Kentucky on April 4, 1937 to the late Harry Pelle and Mary (Colchin) Becker.
Bill graduated from St. Joseph High School and enjoyed sharing stories of his years on the football team. After graduating he worked in the Mobile Home Industry, and was affiliated in Banking for 20 years before becoming an owner/operator of McDonald's Restaurants in Indiana and Michigan. He retired in 2010.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Marilyn; his son, William, (Bill), Jr.; and his brothers Harry and Paul.
Bill is survived by his daughters, Beth (Mike) McHugh of Greenwood, IN, and Carolyn (Don) Oblinger, of Mt. Pleasant, MI; son, Mark (Alicja) Becker, of Mishawaka, IN; and daughter-in-law, Deb Becker, of Warsaw, IN. Also surviving their Papa are nine grandchildren: Michelle, Randy (Allie), Laura (Conner), Kevin, Ellen (Brett), Leena (Jake), Adam, Maggie, Marie, Josephina and Angelina: and nine great-grandchildren: Hank Becker, Caroline, Hugh and Louise Trumble, John and Will Haworth, Lillian McHugh-Haworth, Maxine and Lenora Middaugh.
He was devoted to his family and continued to make memories for his loved ones to cherish. He was a Fourth Degree Knights of Columbus, and was awarded by Gov, Otis Bowen the Council of the Sagamore of the Wabash. Bill served as treasurer of the Republican Party for St. Joseph Co. and was a board member of Ronald McDonald House Charities. He also mentored numerous young adults. Bill was an avid sports fan of all sports, but especially Notre Dame, where he was a season football ticket holder since 1961. He was the chef of the original Sunday night Billy Burger.

Visitation will be held Friday from 5-7pm at McGann Hay, Granger Chapel, 13260 SR 23, at Cherry Road, Granger, IN 46530.
A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at St. Pius X, 52553 N. Fir Rd., Granger, on Saturday, at 10 a.m. with visitation one hour prior.
Inurnment will take place at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens immediately following the service.
