Betty J. Fleming

Betty Fleming, 89, passed away peacefully August 28, 2023.

Born April 11, 1934 in South Bend, IN, she was the daughter of the late Douglas and Gladys (Stoner) Poindexter. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Arvester Fleming Sr.; daughter, Karen E. Shead-Tucker; sister, Joann Teague; and brothers, Russel, John and William Poindexter.

Left to cherish her memory are three children: Anthony A. (Patricia) Fleming Sr. of Wesley Chapel, FL, Diana (Guy Luckert) Fleming of South Bend, and Denise (Derrick) Fowler of South Bend; three grandsons, Joseph Shead, Jr., Anthony (Skytha Kita Carrington) Fleming, Jr. and Derrick Fleming; two great-grandchildren, Jalen and Nia Fleming; a special friend, Gwen Scott; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.

Betty enjoyed friends, family, animals, sewing and keeping an eye on the neighborhood.
