Whitney Scott Love, 55, of Mishawaka passed away on Saturday, Sept 23, 2023, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Whitney was born in South Bend, Indiana on July 1, 1968, to James L. Love and the late Demova Love. Whitney is survived by her father, James L. Love of Elkhart; brother, Coleman S. Love (Jessica) of Indianapolis; and many nieces and nephews. She was a 1986 Mishawaka High School graduate, where she was an outstanding basketball player earning MVP during her high school career. Whitney graduated top of her class from Davenport University with an associate degree in Clinical Massage Therapy.
Whitney loved to be in nature. She enjoyed anything outside and especially loved to go camping and fishing. She was very artistic and loved music. Whitney always enjoyed a great cup of coffee and philosophical conversations with friends. She loved animals and they loved her just as much right back.
Whitney was an amazing, beautiful loving soul with an incredible force, positively impacting and touching the lives of everyone she met. She was loved by many and incredibly admired for her loyalty, integrity, and out-pouring generosity. She was always willing to help anyone and everyone, no matter what time of the day or night. There is a huge hole that will forever be in our hearts, but we will cherish the beautiful and wonderful memories and honor all the lessons Whitney lovingly taught us. Whitney will be so deeply missed by family and friends.
The family would like to express their deepest gratitude and appreciation toBobbi Shopshire, Brandy Wynegar, Carol Ann Mcerlean and Christopher Nichols for all the love, support and care you provided to Whitney over the years and especially these last few months of her life. The family would also like to thank Southern Hospice Care for all the support and care provided to Whitney over the last several months. We will be forever grateful for everyone.
A Celebration of Whitney’s life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family request Memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society, local animal shelter, or Southern Care Hospice.
